A toys library at Bethlehem Peace Center and Manger Square officially opened its doors on Friday 24th of June 2022 aiming at creating a cultural place and a resource for the community to bring people together and reinforce the living together.
Paris and Bethlehem municipalities started working on the idea since 2020, but due to the worldwide COVID pandemic, the work was postponed. Today the library with more than 50 toys and games is inaugurated as part of Bethlehem Peace Center and the new design of the center’s ground floor, which also has been redesigned and inaugurated in 2021 as part of “Reinventing public spaces in Bethlehem” project.
The library offers a large collection of outdoor and indoor traditional games, board games, toys … targeting all community members (children, families, youth, elderly, and people with disabilities …). Through games, the library gives the opportunity to children to develop their psychomotor skills and parents spend special moments with them.
A variety of events and activities will be organized during the day and evening periods, as a way to create a link between people with completely different realities (age, social background). In addition, the library will open to the public free of charge.
