Mardi 3 septembre 2019, l’atelier international d’étudiants a été ouvert officiellement par les représentants des villes de Bethleem et de Paris, ainsi que l’AFD, en présence des étudiants et des habitants et partenaires locaux.
Dans le cadre de l’amitié qui lie les villes de Bethléem et Paris, un atelier international d’étudiants s’est ouvert au Peace Center, dans le cadre du projet « Réinventer l’espace public à Bethléem », financé par l’Agence française de développement et avec le soutien du Consulat général de France à Jérusalem.
L’atelier s’est ouvert en présence du Maire de Bethléem, l’avocat Anton Salman, le Consul Général adjoint, M. Rémy Bouallegue, la directrice de l’Agence française de Développement à Jérusalem, Mme Catherine Bonnaud, ainsi que Mme Elodie Cuenca, représentant la Ville de Paris et le directeur général de la Municipalité de Bethléem, M. Anton Morcos, les membres du conseil municipal, les représentants d’institutions communautaires, les maires et les étudiants de différentes universités françaises et l’université de Birzeit. Cette ouverture a permis de souligner l’importance de ce projet, qui vise à réaménager et à réactiver les espaces publics de la ville de Bethléem, et qui comprend comme site emblématique, la revitalisation de la place de la Nativité (Manger Square), sur laquelle les étudiants vont travailler.
Ce fut aussi l’occasion de souligner les liens privilégiés entre la ville de Bethléem et Paris et les relations d’amitié entre plusieurs communes de France et Bethléem. Le Maire a rappelé l’importance stratégique du projet dans un contexte de congestion croissante du trafic au sein de la ville et de pression touristique. L’originalité du projet a été longuement soulignée. La participation des citoyens et de la communauté locale est au cœur du projet, les espaces seront imaginés par et pour les habitants. Il s’agit de repenser les déplacements et d’offrir aux citoyens et aux visiteurs des espaces publics confortables, accueillants et adaptables à tous et à tous les usages.
Les 14 étudiants palestiniens de l’université de Birzeit et les 16 étudiants français issus notamment des écoles d’architecture de Versailles, Paris-Malaquais et de l’École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris, vont réfléchir et imaginer le futur de la place pendant 10 jours, sous la supervision de professeurs parisiens et palestiniens. As part of the friendship between the cities of Bethlehem and Paris, an international student workshop was opened at the Peace Centre, as part of the project « Reinventing Public Space in Bethlehem », funded by the French Development Agency and with the support of the French Consulate General in Jerusalem.
This opening took place with the Mayor of Bethlehem, lawyer Anton Salman, the Deputy Consul General, Mr. Rémy Bouallegue, the Director of the French Development Agency in Jerusalem, Ms. Catherine Bonnaud, as well as Ms. Elodie Cuenca, representing the City of Paris and the Director General of the Municipality of Bethlehem, Mr. Anton Morcos, members of the municipal council, representatives from community institutions, mayors and students from different French universities and the University of Birzeit. This opening underscored the importance of this project, which aims to redevelop and reactivate the public spaces of the city of Bethlehem, and which includes as an emblematic site, the revitalization of the Nativity Square, on which the students will work.
It was also an opportunity to highlight the special ties between the city of Bethlehem and Paris and the friendly relations between French cities and Bethlehem. The Mayor recalled the strategic importance of the project in a context of increasing traffic congestion within the city and tourist pressure. The originality of the project was highlighted at length. The participation of citizens and the local community is at the centre of the project, the spaces will be imagined by and for the inhabitants. The aim is to rethink mobility and offer citizens and visitors comfortable, welcoming public spaces that are adaptable to everyone and to all uses.
14 Palestinian students from Birzeit University and 16 French students from the schools of architecture of Versailles, Paris-Malaquais and the École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris, will reflect and imagine the future of the place for the next 10 days, under the supervision of Parisian and Palestinian teachers. Their works will be presented here on this platform.
في إطار إتفاقية التعاون بين بلديتي بيت لحم وباريس ورشة عمل تحت عنوان (ساحة المهد) في مركز السلام
نُظم في مركز السلام اليوم الثلاثاء الموافق 3-9-2019 ورشة عمل تحت عنوان ( ساحة المهد ) ضمن مشروع إعادة تصميم وإستخدام المساحات العامة في مدينة بيت لحم والممول من قبل الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية من خلال بلدية باريس وذلك بحضور رئيس بلدية بيت لحم المحامي أنطون سلمان، ونائب القنصل الفرنسي العام في القدس السيد ريمي بولوج، ومديرة الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية السيدة كاثرين بونود، والسيدة ايلودي كوينكا ممثلة عن بلدية باريس، ومدير عام البلدية السيد أنطون مرقص وأعضاء المجلس البلدي وممثلين عن المؤسسات المجتمعية والمخاتير وطلبة من جامعات فرنسية مختلفة وجامعة بيرزيت.
بدوره رحب سلمان بالحضور واكد على أهمية هذا المشروع الذي يهدف إلى إعادة تصميم وإستخدام المساحات العامة في مدينة بيت لحم والذي يشمل إعادة تصميم واستخدام ساحة المهد وتنظيم المدخل الشمالي للمدينة ومشاريع تخدم الخطة المرورية أمام المدارس وغيرها، وتحدث عن مدينة بيت لحم وأهم التحديات في ظل ممارسات الإحتلال الإسرائيلي وسيطرته على معظم مساحة المحافظة بما يعرف بالمنطقة (ج) والتي تصل إلى 66% ما راجع فرص التنمية والتطور وإقامة مشاريع جديدة.
من جانبه شكر تبولوج سلمان على دعوته، مؤكدا على مكانة مدينة بيت لحم، وأعرب عن عمق المشاعر التي يشعر بها الفرنسيون تجاه مدينة بيت لحم، وعن متانة العلاقات المشتركة بين بلديات فرنسا وبيت لحم، كما وأكد على أهمية المشروع متمنياً أن يقدم لبيت لحم فوائد عديدة.
بونود قدرت عالياً التعاون والعلاقة بين بلديتي بيت لحم وباريس مشيرة أن المشروع يتعامل مع المساحات العامة وبالتالي سيخدم المدينة التي تجذب إليها أعداداً كبيرة من السياح، وتمنت أن يقود هذا المشروع بيت لحم إلى مستقبل أفضل.
كوينكا شكرت بلدية بيت لحم على تعاونهم لصالح إنجاح المشروع بالإضافة إلى الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية على دعمهم وتمويلهم للمشروع والقنصلية الفرنسية، وأكدت أنه من خلال هذا المشروع تم إشراك المواطنين والمجتمع المحلي، وأشارت أن هذا المشروع يشكل طموحاً يهدف إلى إعادة تصميم وإستخدام المساحات العامة في مدينة بيت لحم، وتطرقت إلى أهمية الخطوة التي قامت بها بلدية بيت لحم بمنع ركن السيارات في ساحة المهد ما يتيح الفرصة لتحويل الساحة إلى مكان عام آمن وممتع لأهالي المدينة والزائرين.
